Why We Built the AI Marketers Guild (AIMG)
David Berkowitz and I have worked together many of times, and when he reached out with the idea of starting something for marketers in the AI space, I was in.
We didn't just want to talk about the changes happening, we wanted to do something about it.
- We came up with the name,
- built the offering,
- defined the strategy,
- and launched the AI Marketers Guild.
But I didn't just show up with ideas, I rolled up my sleeves.
- I built the first version of the website.
- I helped shape the business model and GTM plan.
- I supported event strategy, member experience, and community structure.
And I stayed involved from launch through growth: April 2023 through June 2024.
Our Mission:
To create not just another “community.”
That word's lost meaning.
This was built to be a place where marketers could actually grow, get smarter, connect with others doing real work, and push themselves forward.
We're in a moment that reminds me of when social media was just starting out.
AI is exciting, misunderstood, and completely reshaping how we work. Most people are either ignoring it or overhyping it.
We wanted to do something different.
That's why we built AIMG, for two main reasons:
- To help marketers develop the real skills they need to work with AI—not get left behind.
- To actively shape the future of AI marketing, not sit on the sidelines watching.
No fluff. No endless webinars. Just real learning, collaboration, and action.
We didn't want people to just understand AI, we wanted to help them become AI marketers.
