Why I made this
Every week I see a new LinkedIn post or paid course promising to teach “GEO” like brands need to scrap their playbook and start over. Most of the time, it’s the SEO playbook with a couple of new files on top.
So I wrote a song. The whole thesis fits in the chorus: G-E-O, S-E-O, oh-oh, it’s the same thing. If you want the longer version with the actual checklist, here’s the companion blog post.

When somebody asks ChatGPT for the best sneakers this week
It names a few brands in its little reply
GEO’s the game of getting YOUR brand cited, bye
Now before you spiral, drop the deck real slow
Everything your brand did for SEO?
Still works, still hits, still goes
’Cause the bot reads your site AND the web

Clean up your pages, fix the titles and tags
Then get talked about, baby, that’s the flag

Say what your brand does right up on your site
Real headers, real specs, product pages tight
Then get mentioned on Reddit, press, reviews too

Now a couple little tweaks, don’t freak, don’t pout
Drop an LLMs-dot-txt, tell the bots what you’re about
HTML sitemap, lay the pages out neat
FAQ on the page, give ’em quotable meat
Write in clean little chunks the AI can grab
’Cause the bot wants a snack, not a 2-hour lab
Old way: your site ranks, the internet talks, you get the click
New way: same site, same talk, but the AI picks
If your brand did SEO, bestie, calm down
You’ve been doing GEO, you just ain’t know the sound
